Our Story

The Praxis Performance Group is dedicated to the improvement of individuals, teams, groups, and organizations. Our mission is to enhance performance through Collaborative Improvement. Our motto states it best: You can do this, but you don’t have to do it alone.

The History

Collaborative Improvement

Founded in 2013 with the simple idea that improvement to performance is best achieved with competent guidance. Tremendous amounts of research has been conducted for over a century. Much of it seems to be lost in buzzwords and inaccurate phrases repeated in practice arenas all over the world. The Praxis Performance Group seeks to help make this research more accessible for individuals simply trying to improve. The word praxis indicates moving from only having knowledge toward a state of activity that applies the principles. You can make real and measurable enhancements to the activities you’re involved with on a regular basis.

“Coach Alan has been so much fun to work with. He helped me recognize my stress points and learn how to manage those moments. We worked together to make it all possible.”

Meet Your Coach

Hi, I’m Alan Whitehead. As the youngest of five children, I was well aware at an early age that performance is always measured and compared to others. Evaluation Apprehension is a very real thing experienced by nearly everyone. I know the thrill of performing in front of thousands of cheering (or jeering depending on the location!) fans. I also know the panic of speaking in front of large groups and losing your place only to become increasingly flustered.

These experiences are some of the reasons which contributed to the founding of the Praxis Performance Group in 2013. We started small with the goal of helping performers in a wide variety of fields apply researched and proven principles to aid in reducing stress and anxiety while increasing performance and satisfaction.

Remember, you can do this. But you don’t have to do it alone.
